Every once in a while, we get a rash of error 25571s on Informix Dynamic Server 2000 Version 9.20.UC2. I didn't find other messages on usenet which referenced this error number. 'finderr' shows a large number of possible options for this message: 1) Check the value of the USERTHREADS parameter I don't find this parameter in my config file and I found a reference on usenet that it was obsolete. 2) value of the userthreads field of the NETTYPE parameter I config file shows this: NETTYPE tlitcp, 3, 1024, CPU Is there a way to confirm that this would be the problem triggering this symptom? 3) out of system resources to start a thread. How else would this manifest itself? /var/adm/messages?? 4) client application permissions problem. 5) GLS structure request failed Not doing any explicit GLS calls. 6) unix group membership problems The group file hasn't changed, and the problem is intermittent. Basically, I'm trying to figure out which of these 6 things is happening. It would be nice if they would split out the error code, or provide some sub-code. In order to support transactions, you must start a transaction log. With the INFORMIX-OnLine Dynamic Server, the OnLine administrator uses the Databases screen of the Logical Logs menu of DB-Monitor or ON-Monitor to start a transaction log. With other database servers, use the START DATABASE statement."
