Well they are 'undocumented' soo... But seriously I believe descriptions of these and others were included in the latest version of the FAQ: http://www.smooth1.demon.co.uk/informix.htm David, is this there? Art S. Kagel

Covers LRUPOLICY (not 'the undocumented ONCONFIG parameter LRUPRIORITY' ) ^^^^^^^^^^^ typo to be fixed ASAP! 8.57 What are the main Informix bugs? covers NOLRUPRIO and mentions LRUAGE exists but does not say - what to set it to (??) - what is does! Art, what does LRUAGE do ?? PS WHy are these in Section 8 DBA stuff rather than Section 6 Online stuff?? I'm going mad.. Also I've noticed three sections on busy waits in the FAQ! TIme for a sort out! >Art S. Kagel -- David Williams

Setting LRUAGE=1 enables LRU priority aging. This permits the engine to lower the priority of a buffer that has not been accessed for a while. This is to prevent the higher priority classes from starving the lower classes for buffers over time. In this way if a large batch job causes 100,000 index nodes to be loaded into MED-HIGH priority overnight by the next morning most of those nodes will have been aged down to MEDIUM permitting them to be replaced with data pages. > PS WHy are these in Section 8 DBA stuff rather than > Section 6 Online stuff??
