After about 50 open/closes, |we discovered steady growth in our backends. | |This problem was reproduced even on the stores db, so I'm surprised |that more people haven't come across this problem. | |After sending a test program to Informix support, we have received |a fix to bug # 14071 in release 4.10 UE4P1. | |Thanks to Informix for fixing the problem so quickly. |Further details upon request. Maybe this explains what's been happening to my system. I'm running 4.10 UE1 on an IBM RS/6000. I have a batch 4GL program that I tried to run against 37,000 rows. I have 16MB of memory with 32MB page space. Everytime I run the program it ABENDs -- Not enough memory. I watched sqlturbo go from 1MB to 2MB to 3MB... to 8MB.. Eventually it eats all the virtual memory and the RS/6000's Virtual Memory Manager starts killing processes. --- ~ WinQwk 2.0b#480 ~ I believe the word you're looking for is AAAAARRRRRGGH! -- Executive Network Information System (914) 667-4567 International ILink Host
