We have always documented in the machine notes that shared memory residency is not supported on AIX. The format of the machine notes has changed in IDS 9.30 and IDS 9.40. This is now documented under "Features not Supported" and also "Known Defects". Features not Supported: ====================== 1. Shared Memory Residency Known Defects: ============= 1. Bug Number: 130234 Short Description: FEATURE: CUSTOMER NEEDS TO IMPLEMENT FORCED RESIDENCY ON AN AIX BOX WHICH WE CURRENTLY DO NOT SUPPORT. A couple of years ago our release notes said to set this to 0 as AIX does this automatically. This fact was documented in the release notes directory of our install. I looked in the release notes of our current version and this is no longer documented. Has something changed?
