Please help! Less performance & run-time errors when updating INF-SE 4.10 to 5.0

Please help! Platform: i486 EISA DPT SCSI controller with RAID 1, 2 x 1GB IBM hard disks. SCO UNIX 3.2v4.2 INFORMIX-SE 4.10, INFORMIX-4GL 4.xx, FourGen. After updating INFORMIX-SE 4.10 to INFORMIX-SE 5.0 following behavior appeared: - performance became significantly lower. when running 1 application programm (written in 4GL) sar(1) said sys=60 and wio=40. with the older version were 15+ apps running without performance problems. - suddenly run-time errors (like convertion errors) interrupted application programs, that run correctly with the older version! Is there anybody who already experienced such problems when updating? Please reply and give me some hints!! Note: I only updated INFORMIX-SE, not 4GL. Should I update 4GL also!? I didn't recompile my 4GL applications! Should I do so?
