The ISAM error is actually and OS errno number 5. Errno 5 is a generic I/O error and indicates that one of the temp devices on your system (which depends on the settings of several environment variables but check /tmp, the FSs listed in PSORT_DBTEMP, the chunks of the dbspaces listed in DBSPACETEMP and the ROOTDBS for system level I/O errors in the system message log.
