The file that I changed was $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts.
I added two lines:
se_local seipcpip test.metroed.net sqlexec
metroed_se sesoctcp test.metroed.net sqlexecd
I also changed /etc/services.
I added one line:
sqlexecd 1520/tcp #informix daemon
I set the variables
INFORMIXDIR=/usr/informix
INFORMIXSERVER=metroed_se
I started the $INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd daemon as root
Everything seems to work okay except when I compile esql/c
stuff. If I use esql -static for simple printf('hello world!\\n'); stuff,
if works, otherwise, I'm still getting the following error:
/usr/informix/lib/esql/libixos.a(osauth.o): In function 'crypt_pwd':
osauth.o(.txt+0x29c): undefined reference to 'crypt'
Anyone else have a suggestion?
It seems like a shared library problem or something....????
