Statically-linked 4GLs

We've been having problems with our Warehousing system (Exceed, formerly known as Dallas) When we upgraded from v5 -> v7.24 the time for critical processes doubled. By use of v7.31, a special gls-neutered version of 4GL and some oher changes we have benchmarked performance down to just 20% higher than on v5 (perhaps this would be a good test for the fledgling marketing initiative!). Anyway, one of the improvements, recommended by Informix Tech Support, is the linking of the 4ges that make up Exceed statically, rather than dynamically. Does anyone have a rule of thumb for the likely memory implications (HP K460, 1.75GBytes memory, HP-UX 10.20)? thanks Neil
