I'll second that. Also, the capability to analyze logs that are
no longer available on-line would be nice. Just last week I had to do a
point-in-time restore to a test instance in order to get a look at some
old logs. Then the typical sed/awk scripts to find what I was looking
for and then dump the transaction in question. Found what I was looking
for, but a real pain.

In version 10 onbar will extract logical logs from backup like onlog.
Here is some output for the onbar --
You have to use onbar but it does work.
LOGICAL-LOG(S) DISPLAY
======================
For IBM Informix Dynamic Server:
{-P} {-n <log unique identifier> | <starting log unique
identifier -
ending log unique identifier>} [-l] [-q] [-b] [-u <user name>]
[-t <TBLspace number>] [-x <transaction number]
-P Print backed up logical-log(s) information
-n Display the specified log identifier(s)
-l Display maximum information about each log record
-q Do not display program header
-b Display information about logged BLOB pages
-u Display the specified user(s)
-t Display the specified TBLspace(s)
-x Display the specified transaction(s)
