RE: INPUT ARRAY questions
Posted in 2001
you may what to look at d4gl or 4js version 3.10 it has a CANCEL INSERT/DELETE fruntion. ie: BEFORE DELETE/INSERT IF x THEN CANCEL DELETE/INSERT END IF You may also add this to the INPUT ARRAY ATTRIBUTES. ie: ATTRIBUTES(COUNT=n, MAXCOUNT=n, DELETE ROW = {TRUE|FALSE},INSERT ROW= {TRUE|FALSE}) this allows or stops a user from deleting/insert rows in an array. as for NEXT ROW, again 4js/d4gl has a function called setcurrline(s,r) ie: CALL dialog.setcurrline(screen_row,array_row) , then i normally do a NEXT FIELD to the first input field on the row. hope this helps. I wish there was a simple way to: BEFORE INSERT IF current_array = max_array THEN STOP INSERT MESSAGE "There are no more rows in the direction you are going." CONTINUE INPUT # keep user on last populated array line END IF ...etc. I'm not above dirty tricks with some guidance on how to use them. The last time I was using Informix was back on version 4.??, and I asked Informix for a "NEXT ROW." Never got it, came up with NEXT FIELD dummy with NO INPUT...it's a shame, but I'm still using that one. Did NEXT ROW ever creep into a release? What is the current method for getting 7.30? It tooks us three resellers and 2 months to PURCHASE 7.20 a year or so ago...nobody wanted to follow through and take our $13,000. Thanks again.
