Hi there, Is there any possibility to capture only data changes by means of subj. Thanks
I'm not quite sure what you are after. If you want to only transmit the changed fields, then that is a feature of the 9.3 product. If you only want to capture a net difference between fields, then that is not possible. Just because a numberic field changed from a 1 to a 3 does not mean that a 2 was simply added to the field. It could be a status field. A one could mean an 'empty' room to a hotel and a three could mean 'checked out'. If we simply took the difference of 2 and applied it to the target, what would we do if the target was a 2? It might mean that 2 was checked in and that data simply had not yet replicated to all servers. So if the checkout was done on a different server and the 1 was changed to a 3, what would we do when that data was replicated to the server already containing a 2?? Could you be a bit more specific as to what you are looking for? Thanks
Informix (Ardent) has solution I want but using Sybase Replication Server. It's name is CDC (Change Data Capture). When I've learnt about this one I would learn about possibility to do the same with Informix Enterprise Replication. CMPruet wrote: > I'm not quite sure what you are after.
