Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
steveFarris found that a changed 4GL form field was not registered when the user pressed ACCEPT without hitting return. Art S. Kagel suggested an ON KEY (ACCEPT) block using infield() and assigning get_fldbuf() of the field to the program variable before EXIT INPUT. steveFarris confirmed get_fldbuf() solved it. Another poster asked whether the accept key was properly defined.

Hi, I have a form that contains a charachter field, and the field is to
be updated. The problem is that if a user changes the contents of the
field but presses the ACCEPT key, the changed contents of the field do
not register. (I guess because the user did not hit return, causing the
change to "take"). How can i force that buffer of info into the
appropriate form field in this situation??

ON KEY (ACCEPT)
CASE
WHEN infield( char_fieldname )
LET data_struct.char_fieldname=get_fldbuf( char_fieldname )
WHEN infield......
END CASE
EXIT INPUT

Are you sure that the accept key is defined, and also is set in the term
you are using to send the correct sequence to the program. ?
