CHICAGO DBA position

The Moody Bible Institute, a four year undergraduate school devoted to the training of men and women for full-time ministry work, has the following position to be filled: INFORMATION SYSTEMS - Database Administrator Under direct supervision of the Network and System Support Director the Database Administrator is responsible for all maintenance, performance tuning and space considerations as it relates to the CARS administrative system (Informix database) and Moody Press publishing system (Unify database). The database administrator will also plan and install software upgrades as it relates to the administrative/publishing systems, as well as analyze and report any defects of said products working with the vendors to implement solutions to correct such defects. The database administrator will also be responsible for assisting the programming staff in problem determination, file access and design and programming techniques. As the Moody Bible Institute moves into client/server technologies, the Database Administrator will be required to coordinate activities with both the Network and System Administrators. QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2+ years experience working with a relational database is required. Experience working with CARS administration software and Informix database is highly desirable. Must possess superior communication and analytical skills.
