In a past mail in this group, Jonathan takes about an appendix that explain complex outer join. Is there someone can tell me where I could find it. Thanks

It is in Appendix G of the I4GL 4.0 Reference Manual, Vol 2, and in Appendix H of the ISQL 4.0 User Guide, both dating back to March 1990. Even that version doesn't have the neat diagramming convention in it, so I've contacted a guardian of Informix Documentation, Ancient and Modern, who has provided me with the diagrams. They are in Appendix G of the I4GL 1.10 Reference Manual, dating back to July 1988. Software archaeology again! I've converted both Appendix G's into HTML (see the attachment), and added a rather complex example of an actual view definition working with multiple outer joins that I encountered back in the days when Turbo was only just not the current product. I'm also sending it to Daivd Williams, the maintainer of the Informix FAQ, and to the IIUG in the hopes that it will actually get onto one or more web sites. -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
