951 informix: incorrect password or user informix is not known on the database server

Hello. I am new to informix. I have installed and initialized informix but trying to connect to it through dbaccess I get "-951 informix: incorrect password or user informix is not known on the database server". I know I am providing the right password and I still get this error. I am running on Ultra 10 running Solaris 7.0. I even made informix account to have no password and I still get this error. I have read through both manuals on Administration and no where have I found any reference to this error and what to do get rid of it.
