RE: IDS 7.31 and OnBar and ADSM on AIX
Posted in 1999
Have you updated the bar_version table in the sysutils database
with your current ADSM version. Below are excerpts from the README
file for the current ADSM API interface to onbar:
Informix OnBar setup
**AIX ext=o, HP ext=sl, SOL ext=so**
When the Informix OnBar product is installed, you will need to
define the symbolic link between the Informix library, ibsad001.(ext),
name and our ADSM X/Open library, libXApi.(ext), to enable the
function.
To do this:
1. cd to your API installation directory
(usually APIINSTALLPATH)
2. ln -s $PWD/libXApi.(ext) /usr/lib/ibsad001.(ext)
After installing OnBar, make sure it will be compatible with the
current version of the ADSM client.Copy sm_versions.std to sm_versions.
Edit the sm_versions file before running oninit.
1. Edit the file $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sm_versions
2. Create a line for the current ADSM level
1|3.1.7|adsm|3
The fields in this line are:
The fields in this line are:
1|Stg Mgr ver.rel.level|Stg Mgr name|Stg Mgr ver
If the current ADSM version is not in this table, you will get an
error about an incompatible version.
OnBar may report an 'unspecified XBSA error 96'. This indicates that
an ADSM error occured that couldn't be explained with the currently
defined XBSA return codes. The explanation for the error will be in
the dsierror.log file which is specified by the DSMI_LOG environment
variable.
To support Informix 7.3 do this:
1. cd to your API installation directory
(usually APIINSTALLPATH)
2. extract the shared object file with the command:
'ar -x libXApi.a'
(you will see the file bsashr10.o)
3. set the OnBar environment variable to locate the ADSM file
export BAR_BSALIB_PATH=APIINSTALLPATH/bsashr10.o
