I'm upgrading from Informix 7.1x to 7.2x and have a question about PC Win95 configuration, if someone would point me in the right direction. We are using VB 5.X and I-Net and Intersolve ODBC drivers which we purchased separately. 7.2x now comes with Snet and its on ODC 32 driver. Actually it's an Intersolve drive version 2.12.0002 where the old one was 2.12.0000. This newer version, along with Snet has changed the connection criteria, basically they are requiring a SQLHOSTS file and an INFORMIXSERVER values to be set. My question: Would someone tell me where this is documented. I've got a stack of manuals (at least 3 feet tall) and have been looking for it for 2 days now. Cannot seem to find it. I'm looking for the ODBC configuration documentation that will describe the ODBC connection etc and the SQLHOST relationship. I want the application to be able to dynamically assign these, through the ODBC, and not use Environment Variables etc. Thanks.
