How to connect to Informix 7.2

Sorry for the stupid question, but coming from a Sybase background. Running Informix 7.2 on Solaris 2.7. Is there a connection tool for admining and running sql commands for Informix? I have a book, but it doesn't tell me anything. If there are tools, what are the required parameters needed? (i.e. isql -Usa -P<password> in sybase). Thanks.
Just use dbaccess tool.
isql (Interactive SQL ) is an optionnal application in Informix
environment.

There is a separate dbaccess manual. Also check SQL Reference and
Tutorial. They are great source for information.

Just running dbaccess will give you a menued query and schema maintenance
environment. If you want a commandline interface more like isql run
"dbaccess databasename -" the final dash will put dbaccess into commandline
mode, however there is not command history. You can download Jonathan
Leffler's sqlcmd utility from the IIUG Software Repository
(www.iiug.org/software/index.html), sqlcmd has full command history and
other features that dbaccess lacks as a commandline tool, though dbaccess's
menu mode is very nice.
In the Informix world isql is a separate set of tools for creating and
managing forms and reports (similar to SQR) which also happens to have a
dbaccess-like tool also called isql. Isql is available separately but
dbaccess is bundled with all engines.

Get the excellent "sqlcmd" tool from the Informix user group
(http://www.iiug.org).
Informix is making 'sqlcmd' freely available and it is a great tool.
Much better than isql or dbaccess in batch mode.
