Disable backups of Informix temporarily

Hello, I am in the process of reconfiguring the backup server (separate issue), and in the meanwhile, backups on the Informix dbs cannot happen. I believe the db stops working if i don't backup the logical logs and the databases for some time. Is it possible to redirect it to /dev/null or some other way until the backup server is working again? I don't know much about Informix, but can provide details if needed. Thanks, Anjan

Yes - set LTAPEDEV to /dev/null and logical logs are not backed up. > I don't know much about Informix, but can provide details if needed. -- Jonathan Leffler #include <disclaimer.h> Email: jleffler@earthlink.net, jleffler@us.ibm.com Guardian of DBD::Informix v2003.04 -- http://dbi.perl.org/
Thanks, John.
Does that require restarting the database?
Following are current values-
LTAPEDEV /dev/rmt/0h
LTAPEBLK 16 # Log tape block size (Kbytes)
LTAPESIZE 10240 # Max amount of data to put on log tape (Kbytes)
Thanks,
Anjan
