Marcel You could use UNLOAD with the DELIMITER option in Informix to change the pipe (|) character to a comma (,), which is the default seperator in Oracle (last I know anyway). If that is not feasible, you should be able to change the delimiter at the Oracle end, ie make Oracle accept the pipe (|) delimiter instead of the comma (,). I still have a "beginner question": I think that these exported files can only be re-imported into informix again. But my new system will be oracle 8.
