Can you elaborate more on "They *make* the performance."
How do they affect in term of performance?

These are the multi-threaded server processes. They *make* the performance.
If you kill them, you'll get an assert failure and the engine will crash.

Run onstat -g glo. This will display each of the vps and describe what they
do. Then compare the process ids with the process ids from ps -ef | grep
oninit......
