Connect 3.70: Unattended Deinstallation under Windows?
Posted in 2011
Topics: Installation, Setup & Upgrades
Hi Informixers, our Windows client administrators are presently packaging the newest version of Informix Connect (3.70[FT]C3) for automatic software distribution. Now they are asking for a method for an unattendet uninstall. The "installconnect" command has an option "-i silent" for unattendet installation, but the manual doesn't mention such an option for the "uninstallconnect" command. Does anybody know a method for performing an unattended deinstallation that requires no user interaction? Regards, Richard
Hello. The new (11.70) $INFORMIXDIR structure has its own uninstall programs, for each package you installed. Eg: as an admin user (or root, in linux/unix), execute $INFORMIXDIR/uninstall/uninstall_clientsdk/uninstallcsdk -i console (for ClientSDK) $INFORMIXDIR/uninstall/uninstall_iconnect/uninstalliconnect -i console (I guess, we never used it, just cdsk only) That should fit your needs. ok, the person packaging I-Connect found out for himself: it's the option "-i silent", just as I had suggested.
