Re: Informix 4GL v7 PROBLEMS.

Fred, have a look at the following excerpt from /usr/informix/release/en_us/0333/SERVER_7.1 SUPPORT OF MULTIPLE INFORMIXDIRS ================================ Even though Informix does not advocate installing different versions of database server products in the same directory ($INFORMIXDIR), the database server and embedded language products of the same version must be installed in the same directory. Therefore, there will be no support for installation of servers and embedded language products in multiple Informix directories leading to the usage of multiple $INFORMIXDIR environment variables. IE, what you are doing is not supported. I suspect that with carefull usage of INFORMIXDIR, you might be able to get away with two different INFORMIXDIRS, however you would need two different sessions two access tools and engine executable at the same time. That said, it looks to me that up to now you have exploited a product behaviour which wasn't really as per spec, and 7.20.UD4 has rectified this. You should have expected this to happen, sooner or later :-) Ciao, Marco ______________________________________________________________________________ Marco Greco <marco@informix.com> Standard disclaimers apply!
