Watch out! It may have run, but you have a new file named "!".
You want "<<" for the here-document operator.
BTW, by using "<<", (at least in the ksh), all your sql commands are saved in
your history, to be edited and/or re-run again without the need to type them.
Wouldn't it be nice to have command editing and history in an sql interpreter?
My thanks to those who shed the light on this operating mode, it has
already paid for itself in the last 25 hours. I only wish I would have
known about 4 years ago.
Also, someone suggested a faq of little known/undocumented features:
good idea! The folks at Snide seem to have discovered a few things,
particularly the 'last key struck' thing. I know a few things about
the datetime doo-hickey. And Walt has been watching the mailing list
forever, so he might have a tidbit or two.
