This is not a tcp/ip sockets problem. Our SGI (IRIX V5.3) works with
sockets and shared memory (Online 7.12.UC1). Use following
configuration:
$INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts:
sgi_on712 onipcshm sgi on712_shm
sgi_on712_net onsoctcp sgi on712_net
/etc/services:
..
on712_shm 1635/tcp
on712_net 1640/tcp
..
$INFORMIXDIR/etc/$ONCONFIG:
..
NETTYPE ipcshm,1,30,CPU
NETTYPE soctcp,1,15,NET
..
If ist don't work with 7.10 -> update to 7.12.UC1.
