Re: Who has just touched a row ?

I wasn't paying attention to this topic, so I am a little tardy in jumping in here, but I may have the solution to this problem. We have triggers on 10 tables that insert rows into 10 logging tables that show the time, data change, and user. this comes in handy for finding out who did what and when. We also have a cron that runs every 10 days and deletes the oldest rows from the logging tables. So in effect, we have a rolling set of history records for what happend on these 10 tables. There is no noticable effect on performance. and the system administers itself, so there is almost no overhead. If anyone is interested in this solution I would be happy to email them generic samples of our code. ==================================================================== Harold Luse Phone: (970) 491-4120 Veterinary Teaching Hospital Fax: (970) 491-4123 Colorado State University Pager: (970) 229-8173 Fort Collins, Colorado USA E-mail: hluse@vth.colostate.edu ====================================================================
