It is not hard to set up. Our tests shows slowing down of primary server about 1.5% (when none else is workning) and no user has complained till now. Primary server is DEC Alpha 4100 (the new one) with 4 CPUs on 466 MHz and 512 MB. Secundary server is DEC Alpha 2100 (3 years old) with 3 CPUs on 190 MHz and 512 + 128 MB. Plan is to add one CPU in secundary and 128 MB in primary server. Secundary server is 3 to 4 times slower then primary and it looks that it is a minimal speed for secondary server, not to slow down primary. Both servers are running Digital UNIX 4.0A and Informix OnLine 7.23.FC1. (both 64 bit sotware) and primary is running also our applications in 4GL. Hope this will help. ###################################################################### # # # Ivica Smolic E-mail: ismolic@open.hr # # # # Company: # # Medimurska banka <URL=http://www.open.hr/com/mb> # # Valenta Morandinija 37 # # 40000 Cakovec tel.: [385 [40]] 810638 # # Croatia fax.: [385 [40]] 810623 # # # ######################################################################
