Hello! If I have one chunk corrupted - how I can restore it? I have arhive 0 level and I don't want to restore all. Thanks. -- Message posted via DBMonster.com http://www.dbmonster.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/informix/200803/1

You cannot restore a single chunk. However, if you also have the
logical logs backed up you can restore the single dbspace that contains
the damaged chunk. Read the Backup and Restore Guide for details which
differ sightly depending on whether you used ontape or onbar to make the
archives.

Hi, you cannot restore a single chunk. The smallest unit you can restore by itself is a dbspace. So you have to restore the dbspace to which the corrupted chunk belongs. If it is a critical dbspace, then you better restore everything because it will be a cold restore anyway. Critical dbspaces are the root dbspace or a dbspace containing (part of) the logical logs or the physical log.
