Informix also has a trust file you can use if you don't want to set up general system wide trust. Art Art S. Thanks for all the input. But I still get the same error. I suspect it has something to do with setting a general trusted environment on os level. We are not using the shadow file and no client servers in /etc/host, host.equiv or rhost. We have more than 2000 users.
Hi,I had a similar problem with Ids 9.3 on Linux, The problem, in my case, was due to the fact that the new version of linux uses encrypted passwords on SHA512 instead of MD5. You will notice this thing through the file / etc / shadow, passwords encrypted with MD5 have $1 as a prefix, while those encrypted with SHA12 have $6. In linux to force the encryption using MD5 I modified /etc/login.defs file like this: # Use SHA512 to encrypt password.#ENCRYPT_METHOD SHA512 # Use MD5 or DES to encrypt password? Red Hat use MD5 by default.ENCRYPT_METHODMD5MD5_CRYPT_ENAByes I hope I was helpful. Il Giovedì 7 Luglio 2016 18:29, FLIP VAN WYNGAARDT <flipv@raf.co.za> ha scritto: Thanks for all the input. We had the same problem here and It was a Network problem, in my case I add a direct route since the pc to the server using the route add ms-dos command and after that it work. > El 07/07/2016, a las 9:29 a.m., FLIP VAN WYNGAARDT <flipv@raf.co.za> escribió: > > Thanks for all the input. That case must have been a -956 situation on the server side which is mapped to -951 on client side. A -951 error on server side as the OP evidences seem to show cannot be caused by a network configuration. Regards.
