We are wanting to eliminate pre-printed forms. The only problem is that we are required to have our company logo on reports that go to our customers. Is there a way to print a logo with our 4GL reports? If so, what are some good examples? ........................................Many Thanks, James

First, I make a WORD document for the logos with "XXX" on the last row, I print it to the printer (PCL) in a file .prn. Second I modify the .prn file, I cut it in two file, the first, .ent from the beginning who ends just before "XXX" and I add ,at the end, the escape sequence to postition the cursor at (0,0), the second, .fin, just after the "XXX" to the end of the .prn. FOREACH PAGE, I send the .ent, the data I want to print and the .fin. I do it with awk who cuts my data every 66 lines. It works !!! But there must be a ..ent and a .fin foreach type of printer you want to use. If someone has got something more generic and portable, I would be wonder to get it.
Take a look at "FormsElectric" from Visual Software (http://www.visual.co.uk). I have used this product with great success in eliminating pre-printed invoices, POs, etc. In conjunction with pcl2pdf from the same company, I have also implemented "paperless" versions of these same documents, delivering e-mailed PDF files of the documents instead of printing them. Calvin: We use Xroff for similar needs. We also print signatures, display dynamic boxes around tables and other such ilk. Steeeeeeeep learning curve! (Get someone who knows what they're doing.) Will (can) do virtually everything print wise! Let us know what route you take. Calvin Shoults wrote: > We are wanting to eliminate pre-printed forms.
