DBTEMP setting in informix.ini

Hi folks, Looking for some advice regarding the foll. issue. I have a NewEra application (v 2.00.WC1) accessing a Standard Engine (v 5.05.UC2) running on SCO 3.2.4.2 Pentium box. I have some huge queries crashing in the application. DBTEMP is currently set in informix.ini via SetNet utility to C:\\TMP (local disk on client PC). Executed the query through the NewEra application and noticed that a temporary sort file was being built by informix in the /tmp directory on the UNIX server. /tmp exists in root file system and does not have much space assigned to it. After a while, foll. message came up on the server console: NOTICE: clalloc - No space on EAFS dev hd (1/40) The NewEra application then threw back the foll. error message: Error Number: -50073 An SQL error has occured in ixSuperTable::doSQLPrepSelect() (-564) for the following SQL stmt: Looked up engine error code -564: Error Number: -564 Cannot sort rows Upon listing contents of /tmp, I noticed that the sort file had been deleted. Next, I set DBTEMP in informix.ini via SetNet to "/u/tmp". This is a directory on the UNIX server that exists in a file-system with plenty of free space. Upon executing the same query, observed the same things happening as outlined above, ie the sort file was being built in /tmp ( and not in DBTEMP ) and same errors were encountered. It does seem that any value specified for DBTEMP in informix.ini is not being respected and instead the default /tmp is being used. Is there any place I'm going wrong ?? Thanks, Sandeep Soneja
