Syncsort with Informix

Would a product like Syncsort Sort package for Unix, as a replacement for the Unix sort, give better performance for DSS type queries that do a lot of group by or order by in an Informix Online 7.31 environment? (We have a growing need for report writing needs querying our Informix databases; they do a lot of sorting and grouping and can run from several minutes to many hours ( especially marketing stuff). Thank you in advance for any input this group can share :-)
