Hallo Antonio, I sent an answer on how to get the available database servers with 4GL last night to this forum. Have a look at your last question for this in the newsgroup, you will find a solution there... Bye, Chris

With no C compiler, you must be using I4GL-RDS. Which version? Actually, not all that important, but since you quote the DBMS version, it would also seem sensible to quote the version number of the product which your questions reference. You can only detect whether you're in a transaction or not reliably and usefully by executing BEGIN WORK and seeing what, if any, error you get. * No transaction available - you weren't in one and you still aren't. * Already in transaction - you were already in one * OK - you are now in a transaction > 2) [...] also would like to know if, using 4gl only, > if I can retrieve the server's names of all my remote databases Not easily - you'd have to run another program which inserted the information into a table in the database you are using. But then you aren't using just 4GL, so NO. > [...snip...] -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.62 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
