Re: INFORMIX WISH LIST

Well, I'll add one more to the list:
Note: this has already been requested as a new feature. We all know
what good that does, though, so...
Now that the database processing takes place in the oninits, as opposed
to the sqlturbos, it can be rediculously difficult to find out what
processes are taking up oninit time.
Just recently, we had a situation where the onstat commands didn't show
a lot of activity (no heavy reads/writes or anything) and yet the three
CPU VPs were all at 85-90% utilization. Finding out what threads are
getting 'oninit time' and translating them to user initiated PIDs is far
too difficult (and inconsistent).
How 'bout an interactive tool that works like `top` (or `monitor -top`)
and shows usage on the oninits? It would have to be interactive to
easily (and quickly) show persistent processes and quick spikes seperately.
Text mode interface, of course.
Just a thought.
