HELP! Table level restore
Posted in 2008
Topics: Server Administration
Trying to do a (filtered) TLR. In the ac.log, I'm getting the
following error message:
TIME: [2008-01-18 19:06:06] All old validation files removed.
STATUS: Dropping old log control tables
ERROR: Table "db1_4" not found in dictionary
STATUS: Restore disabled for maintprod:db1_4 into maintprod:db1_4_a
CRITICAL ERROR: Unable to continue -- no tables to restore.
STATUS: archecker completed Physical Restore pid = 31978 exit code: 3
The table 'db1_4' is there, I dumped the schema with dbschema. What
doesn't it like?

I am not sure what your command file looks like, but you
should make sure that both tables db1_4 and db1_4_a have
create table statements defined for database maintprod.

Bingo, missed 'create' for the existing table.
- do I need the "in dbspace" for the original table?
- do I need "create index ...." for the original table?

For the table that is on the archive you do need the dbspace list. If =
you
are using onbar, then only the dbspaces in the fragment list are scanne=
d.
For the table that is on the archive you do not need the index definiti=
ons,
TLR only requires the table name, column layout and the fragment
information (actually on the dbspace names, it does not care about
the expression).
Hope this helps,
John Miller
