Greenhill fortran and C-ISAM
Posted in 1992
Hello,
I'm looking for someone which runs or have tried to run Greenhill Fortran
together with Informix C-Isam.
We have the following problems :
1) With Greenhill Fortran 1.8.6 and C-ISAM 4.10, we get a linker error
when linking a fortran program with c-modules with c-isam calls.
Ex.
$ ghcc -c isam_test.c
C-88000 1,8,6 Copyright (C) 1983,1984,1985,1986,1987,1988,1989,1990,
1991,1992
$ ghf77 -o tt main.f isam_test.o -lisam
Fortran-88000 1.8.6 Copyright (C)
ld: /usr/lib/libf.a(forfmt.o): warning: symbol: 'error' has different size
ld: /usr/lib/libf.a(forfmt.o): warning: incompatible types for symbol 'error'
ld: /usr/lib/libf.a(forio.o): warning: symbol: 'error' has different size
ld: /usr/lib/libf.a(forio.o): warning: incompatible types for symbol 'error'
Apperently C-ISAM declares an error function which conflicts with ghf77's
error variable.
2) With Greenhill Fortran 1.8.5 and C-ISAM 3.10, program links ok but any
WRITE or PRINT statement in the Fortran program will make the program core
dump, somplace in the fortran I/O library. If WRITE's og PRINT's are excluded
from the program it works fine, including the isam calls.
The hardware in this case is a DG Aviion, but if you have any expirience
from other platforms please let me know.
Please e-mail me if you have any information about Greeenhill fortran and
Informix C-ISAM working together or not working together.
