Re: What happen Informix?

It's called FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) it's the only way that Oracle can hope to sell against Informix. Technically, Informix is far more current than Oracle. Informix does not have a Y2K problem although they have graciously provided an environment variable to help out those who insisted on having only 2 digit years in the front end tools - so that the engine can figure out how to store it. In my tests the engine satisfactorily stored dates well into the 43rd century (I didn't see much point in trying to find the point where it runs into problems, probably Y10K). cheers j. "Gustavo A. One company of software in Costa Rica, associated with Oracle, say without problem: "We are created one tool for migration since the obsolete Informix tecnology to Oracle tecnology" and they suggested between lines, what Informix 4GL have problems with the Y2K!!!.
