On many machines, you will find it necessary to use -fwritable-strings as one of the gcc options. 2. The 4.12 version of c4gl (and cfglgo, cfgldb) will use an environment variable CC (defaulting to cc on most, but not necessarily all, machines) in place of "cc". 3. The 4.12 version of i4gl will use c4gl to handle all its compilation. There is a new option to provide this functionality. This change means that you can use gcc (for example) with both the command line and the interactive environment. Beware: large .[ck]shrc files may cause some performance problems.
