I've been using the 4gl insert cursor to good effect, it give me great performance. Is there an equivalent for updates? I have a loop which performs singleton updates (PREPARE'd) every cycle. I'm wondering if there is a way to buffer these updates and flush them after a certain number of loops, in the same way you can with inserts. You prepare the updates every cycle... how about preparing it once dynamically outside of the cycle (loop). From what I remember, updates happen immediately and don't flush like insert cursors. <spammers_suck@my-deja.com> wrote in message news:8i8481$stv$1@nnrp1.deja.com... > I've been using the 4gl insert cursor to good effect, it give me great > performance. > > Is there an equivalent for updates? > > I have a loop which performs singleton updates (PREPARE'd) every cycle. > > I'm wondering if there is a way to buffer these updates and flush them > after a certain number of loops, in the same way you can with inserts. > > Cheers > > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ > Before you buy.
