Deadlock Issues

I am seeing a large number of deadlocks over a weeks time. They are only occuring on one table in the datbase. The table has row level locking and the isolation level is committed read, and the lockmode is set to wait (10). I have seen several updates that go against the table. It was made mention on another post that "update programs that use different indexes to access the same table as this can cause a virtual deadlock." There are a large number of indexes on this table.
