Mark, I don't know why I'm not seeing your response via the gateway... >Speaking of Oracle ... PL/SQL is clunky. Heck ACE was a lot better... > PL/SQL is actually pretty sublime as a language. I don't think the comparison to ACE is accurate. I think ACE was more like the SQL*PLus language extensions in Oracle (which are a little clunky). SQL*Plus appears to be the interpreter. But PL/SQL is chunky as a language. Granted I'm not an expert by any means, but there are some aspects to the language that are just plain ugly. _________________________________________________________________ Share your latest news with your friends with the Windows Live Spaces friends module. http://clk.atdmt.com/MSN/go/msnnkwsp0070000001msn/direct/01/?href=http://spaces.live.com/spacesapi.aspx?wx_action=create&wx_url=/friends.aspx&mk

SQL*Plus is a simple command line tool. In it an end user can issue SQL statements (executed by the database), PL/SQL statements (executed by the database), and some SQL*Plus statements that control how the output of either of the above gets formatted and displayed in the tool. The SQL*Plus extensions are a little clunky, but here are Oracle we are all very proud of PL/SQL. It's a great language. > Granted I'm not an expert by any means, but there are some aspects to > the language that are just plain ugly. Such as ?
