I have a question on what is the excepted way to delete old backed up log
files when using onbar. Due to space limits on the current server we cannot
keep more than about X days' worth of old logs.
My question is if I use the onsmsync -i command to expire backups will this
also remove the actual log files from the disk? Or does that just 'expire" the
logs and I then need to have another command to actually delete the files?
It's been too long since any Informix training for me to remember.
i.e. let say delete after 7 days:
onsmsync -i "7 00:00:00"
NOTE: we use a nightly cron job using ontape to do a 0 backup of the database,
we only use onbar in the log_full.sh to deal with backing up logs.
