Upgrade from IDS 7.3.1 UC5-1 to UC6.

Hello all. Having problems planning upgrade from IDS 7.3.1.UC5-1 to UC6. Problem is lack of documentation. The CD media had helpless readme files and the IBM website has new installs only. Hi, hmm. Describing the actual problem a bit more detailed would help in helping you ... Most probably it comes as a cpio archive, so you : - go to your $INFORMIXDIR with the IDS environment set, - bring down your current instance (as informix do "onmode -yuk"), - as user root do "cpio -icdumvB < <your input file>" where input file depends on where you have the product, CD, etc. [ If it was delivered as tar file, the the command would be "tar xvf <your input file>" ] - after that as user root do "installserver" Then you should be done and you can restart the IDS instance ...
