Hello Does anyone have any experience of using IDS 7.3 with databases of 500 Gigabytes or more? If so we would greatly appreciate any feedback in terms of what hardware/op-sys to use. Could anyone recommend any particular manufacturer or hardware configuration for this? I've never worked on it, but I've heard that some company (I forget which) has a comparable database using HPUX 64-bit. We run databases in that size class on DG Aviion 20000 with DG/EMC Clariion disk arrays and 24 CPUs for some servers Sun E10000 with DG/EMC disk arrays (with Veritas VM) and 24 CPUs in a single domain for others. Both of these systems provide good performance with these configurations on databases in this size class. All disk farms are RAID10 plaids. Art S.
