we're running Informix 7.3 on HP-UX 11
when I run onstat -g con (show threads which are waiting on something) I see
"netnorm" as the condition being waited for. This is documented as meaning
"thread waiting for a request to be placed in network queue".
Is this normal? Is that implying a network bottleneck?
Thanks

Generally means that the thread (waiter) has no task pending at the time (i.e.
doing nothing). e.g Start up dbaccess, connect to a database using a tcp
connection and monitor it with onstat -g con. If the connection is a shared
memory connection, the equivalent is "sm_read'
