desperately need Help. INFORMIX CLIENT on HPUX can't connect to anything

Hello We are trying to establish connection from Informix client on HPUX to any Informix server. Works from NT, win3.1 and Solaris. We already ran out of options. I installed and tried all kinds of veriosn for HPUX of ESQL/c and I-Connect, including the latest one. What should I be checking for? Environment? any program that I can run to access databases? anything will help. Informix doesn't ship any ISQL utility, so at least we could checl whether our environment setup correctly. What we did so far: Installed client(followed directions from the box) changed /etc/services changed $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts added INFORMIXDIR and INFORMIXSERVER to the Environment. Added SHLIB_PATH with the reference to the $INFORMIXDIR/lib and $INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql What else needs to be done? we tried using examples but we aregetting 25507 error, whic his sying thatunknown protocol or something like that. but the same stuff worked on Solaris.
