How can I access the information in the sqlHosts file as if it was normal database table? for example - if I add a line of a new host in the file , how can I add relevent rows in my database?
Use the UNIX cut command to format the SQLHOSTS file into a table unload format. Then load the results into a temp table. Run an insert SQL statement against a table you've created called SQLHOSTS where the temp row isn't already in the SQLHOSTS table. This could be setup to run automatically through KRON or some other scheduler. Good Luck. Or write a datablade using the VTI (virtual table interface). :-) Or maybe that's a little too much trouble... -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
