Re: Good stuff

In the Past Informix has been one of the best Database products on the market. I have programmed and been DBA on both Informix and Oracle database systems as well as some of the smaller scope databases like Paradox, Foxpro and Access. Oracle has always left a lot to be desired. In the last 8 years I have worked with Informix products, INFORMIX has always been grate in both products and support for those products. New Era Is a little off the mark as far as Customer Support, (only by comparing it to their previous track record) and the learning curve is very high. Over all you will probably find it to be a good solid solution and one that will meet the high standards of its predecessors. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Good stuff Author: ilist@rmy.emory.edu at Internet Date: 11/9/95 5:03 AM I'll give you 11 out of 10 on this. I also tried the oracle on the cd and believe me i like it. We are developing a new system in client server. I asked Informix for prices on a upgrade from 5.01 to 7 and 4gl to new era but that was 3 days ago. I'm still waiting. Maybe i should think of oracle or vb???
