Online 5, stored procedures
Posted in 1996
Hi! I am trying to use stored procedures in system I have to maintain. I wrote some procedures to manipulate data in tables and then I created 4GL code to call these procedures. Everything runs well until program crushes with error -410. Crush hapens in various parts of program, on various SQL statements. Typical example: LET sqlstm = "select mycol from mytab" PREPARE stm FROM sqlstm DECLARE cur CURSOR FOR stm OPEN cur # bangs with -410 When I comment out some stored procedure calls, error disappears. I have checked my code for multiply prepared statements. Freeing statements just allowed to call two more procedure without crush. My stored procedures are large, total aprox. 7500 rows. I think calling stored procedures fills up memory area on server or client used by prepared statements and results in program crush. Environment: OS: SCO 3.2 Engine: Online 5.00.UD1 RDS: 4.10.UC4 Problem appears in both interpreted and compiled 4gl. On Online 7.x error disappears.
