I have heard that Informix is phasing out there Informix Storage Manager.

Subject: Informix and veritas netbackup
Does anybody use the Veritas netbackup product to backup their databases
and/or logs?
I've heard it interfaces to onbar, but our DBA team (I'm the SA) is
reluctant to move to it.
We plan to use netbackup to backup the rest of our systems, we'd like to
get informix backed up and managed as well.
the DBA's concerns are
1) that Informix won't support the configuration if we have a problem
during a restore (generally the most stressful time in a DBAs life to
start with, they don't want to find out that Informix doesn't support
them on top of that).
2) That there may be version specific support problems, that if Veritas
didn't keep up with support of informix releases, that the DBAs could
not upgrade Informix until Veritas caught up.
Any comments good or bad on your experiences (or why you choose to not
use it), would be appreciated.
Thanks.
